The Message Sent At Night – part 1
1.1. Last night, at almost midnight, I got a message from an unknown number. It said: “Jake, if you don’t answer, everyone will see what you wrote.” I had no idea what it meant. I checked my chats again and again, but nothing looked strange. I felt nervous and couldn’t fall asleep. I didn’t reply because I was afraid it was a trick. In the morning, I showed the message to my older sister and asked for advice.
1.2. I was sleeping when my phone buzzed at 1 a.m. The message said: “Liam, I know who you are. Don’t pretend you don’t remember me.” I tried to think who it could be, but no name came to my mind. I started to feel uncomfortable and checked the sender’s profile, but there was no photo. I decided not to answer at night. The next day, I told my class teacher about it.
1.3. Yesterday evening I got a short message that really upset me: “Noah, I thought you were different. I guess I was wrong.” It came from someone I knew from school, but I didn’t know what I had done. I read the message many times and felt guilty. I wanted to write back, but I was afraid of making things worse. Finally, I decided to wait until the morning and talk to the person face to face.
1.4. Just before midnight, my phone lit up with a message saying: “Ethan, you should be careful. Some things don’t stay secret forever.” There was no name, only a fake username. I felt stressed and imagined many bad situations. I didn’t reply because the message sounded threatening. Instead, I took a screenshot and blocked the sender. The next morning, I showed it to my parents so they could help me decide what to do next.
